A grounded, compassionate, science-based way to move from stuck to sustainably moving forward.

In my one-to-one psychological support sessions I bring together the science of health psychology and practical tools from psychotherapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness. My approach mixes psychological insight with hands-on coaching to help you understand what’s holding you back and find ways to move forward with confidence.

Together, we might work on:

  • Managing stress, anxiety, and low mood

  • Rebuilding energy and confidence during or after burnout

  • Creating healthier routines around sleep, food, movement, and more

  • Strengthening self-belief and self-compassion

  • Making meaningful, values-based changes that last

  • Building momentum toward your health, wellbeing, or life goals

  • Handling setbacks without losing sight of progress

This isn’t about 'quick fixes' or one-size-fits-all advice. It’s about small, evidence-based steps that add up to lasting change, grounded in what matters most to you.

Whether you want to break free from old patterns, make time for self-care without guilt, or finally start moving toward your health and life goals, these sessions offer both psychological insight and practical coaching to help you move Above Your Baseline."

"Sometimes life feels heavier than it should.

You might feel stuck, burnt out, quietly overwhelmed, or simply ready for change but unsure where to start. My one-to-one psychology sessions offer a confidential and supportive space to pause, reset, and begin moving toward the version of yourself (and the life) you want to create.

Here's a message from our Lead Psychologist Dr Carl Bryce to explain the 1-1 support offered at AYB.

Addressing the psychological factors at play is crucial for effective and lasting change around lifestyle factors. The right support can make all the difference in improving both your mental and physical well-being.

As a Registered Health Psychologist, I combine evidence-based strategies with a compassionate approach to help you navigate the psychological aspects of your health. During your free 15-minute initial consultation, we’ll begin by briefly exploring the biological, psychological and social (biopsychosocial) challenges you’re facing in relation to your health and wellbeing goals. I’ll listen carefully to your concerns, clarify your goals of therapy, and discuss the next steps to create a tailored plan for moving forward.

This initial free consultation is a meaningful first step, setting the foundation for a scientifically informed, results-oriented approach to managing your health and wellbeing. It also provides an opportunity for us to explore whether we are the right fit to work together, or if another service might better meet your needs, ensuring you receive the most appropriate and effective support for your journey.
